MS MISSOURI SENIOR AMERICA PAGEANT

The pageant, held annually in the St. Louis Area and presented by the Missouri Senior Cameo Club, exemplifies the elegance of senior women over the age of 60. Contestants compete in four categories: A personal interview with judges (prior to pageant), poise in an evening gown, recitation of a 35-second philosophy of life, and a 2 1/2-minute talent presentation.

When disco diva Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in a convent. Disguised as a nun she finds herself at odds with the rigid lifestyle and an uptight Mother Superior. Using her disco moves and singing talent to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church and community, but in doing so, blows her cover. Soon the murderous gang is giving chase but they are no match for Deloris and the power of her newly found sisterhood. Filled with powerful gospel music and outrageous dancing, Sister Act is a reason to rejoice!

It’s the annual Groundhog Day Ceremony in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, and cynical big-city weatherman Phil Connors would rather be anywhere than with the cheery townsfolk. After mocking the rodent's negative forecast, Phil finds himself in a loop, waking up to the same day, February 2. Is he doomed or will he change his fate? Inspired by the hilarious film starring Bill Murray, the musical features a book by original co-screenwriter Danny Rubin, and music and lyrics by Tony Award nominee Tim Minchin.

The bickering residents of a rural village in 1935 Provence, France, have been without a baker for seven weeks. They finally find peace and contentment in the new baker, Aimable, and his attractive young wife, Genevieve. However, when Genevieve is lured away by a handsome young gigolo, the middle-aged baker loses all zest for life and baking. When he refuses to bake, the villagers must work as a team to bring Aimable and Genevieve back together.  This romantic musical by Joseph Stein (Fiddler on the Roof) and Stephen Schwartz (Godspell, Wicked, Pippin) features old-world charm and a lush score.
